Arts and Minds Newsletter

Hi everyone,

November is in full swing, and we have so much to share with you from Arts and Minds!

Cambridge Arts on Prescription

We are three weeks in to our Cambridge Arts on Prescription course, and it’s been a joy so far. Our participants have been exploring various art forms including pottery and paint-making, all inspired by the women’s art collection at Murray Edwards College. Underneath are some photos of the first session to show you what we’ve been creating!

These sessions offer a safe space for those facing mental health challenges. Each week, participants come together for a creative outlet, guided by a professional artist and supported by a counsellor. It’s heartwarming to see the group’s confidence grow as they connect through art.

We can’t wait to see what the rest of the course brings, and we’re already hard at work planning the next one! Stay tuned as an update on when and where that will be will follow soon!

Pottery Group Updates

Our Pottery Group has been busy, too! This group is designed for people with early-onset dementia or other neurological conditions, and carers are warmly invited to join.

Pottery offers a calming, hands-on experience that’s both creative and therapeutic. It’s wonderful to see participants enjoy the process and produce beautiful pieces.

Here are a few snapshots from our recent sessions.

We ask for a £10 donation per participant, which covers the firing costs and the tutor’s time. If you know someone with early onset dementia or another neurological condition who might benefit from joining, we currently have a few spaces available, you can email us at admin@artsandminds.org.uk.
