About the Cavell Centre and Gallery

The Cavell Centre is 104-bed mental health unit situated in Peterborough. It includes adult acute psychiatric wards, a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit, older people's mental health unit and a specialist service for people with learning disabilities. The accommodation includes restaurant-style dining facilities for patients, staff and visitors, an information centre, a fitness and recreational centre and landscaped gardens.

The Cavell Centre Gallery

The Gallery opened in July 2009 and is a venue for Peterborough Open Studios event. Artwork on display includes paintings (both traditional and contemporary), photography, prints, textiles, and sculptures. There is also a selection of jewellery and small ceramics. The majority of the work displayed is for sale with prices to suit everyone.

The gallery hosts 3 exhibitions per year and artists working in any media are invited to submit work for inclusion. Artists wishing to view the gallery and discuss exhibition requirements should contact Caroline Kisby.

Gallery opening times 10.00 am - 12 noon 2.00 pm - 4.00pm daily.

The centre is situated in the grounds of the Edith Cavell Hospital site, Bretton Gate, Peterborough. All access to The Cavell Centre is through the main reception.. Everyone accessing the centre must sign in and out of the building.
