Acer Ward
A series of art workshops was organised at Acer Ward, the acute mental health ward at Hinchingbrooke Hospital
Artists Loren Parker, Anne Ryan, Sandra Scott and Kay Goodridge worked with a group of both in-patients and people who had recently left the ward, using a variety of techniques over 8 weeks. This included voice work, pottery and clay, photography and simple printing techniques. Some of the participants had experience of making art and it is something that is encouraged at the hospital with the their Occupational Therapist and Activities Co-ordinator. Having different artists coming in was also beneficial for the staff and gave them new ideas and time to spend with the participants while taking part in the workshops together.
