Workshop at Hoe Fen – Anglesey Abbey

In December 2008, artist Judith Jones worked ran a day workshop with a group of people from Cambridge Mencap.

The workshop took place at Hoe Fen, Anglesey Abbey on a very cold December day. With the expertise of Judith Jones, they designed and built a large dragonfly made out of chicken-wire and filled with moss, straw and other natural materials found in the woods. The dragon-fly was placed in the woods, and several weeks later, had begun to be taken over by ivy and other plants. Working at Anglesey Abbey and especially in the Hoe Fen area is always a treat and people are made very welcome there by the gardeners and other staff who work there.
