DARWIN CENTRE, FULBOURN

Drama Workshops during half term holidays, February 08

Poet and Playwright, Clare Crossman ran a series of drama workshops at the Darwin Centre at Ida Darwin with a group of young people between the ages of 12 and 18 and who suffer from severe mental illness.

At a consultation meeting with the young people and the nursing staff at the Darwin Centre, it transpired that one of the young people, Regan Robinson, had written a play about a young woman whose aspirations were to be a dancer.

During the week, the group worked with Clare to develop the characters and to make some props and costumes. They also worked on a dance routine and read the play to staff and parents at the end of the week.
