CAMBOURNE STORIES TASTER DAYS

The Hub, Cambourne

Following planning and discussions between Dr Peter Bailey and others providing health, housing, community development and arts services, including Arts and Minds, a programme of story-telling related activities took place during the February half term 2008. During the two days, residents were encouraged to tell stories about their lives, how they came to live in Cambourne and the people, places and experiences that they may have met along the way and since being there in a variety of ways. In a market-place format designed to create a hubbub of activity, residents and their friends took part in book-making, story-telling, quilting, song-writing and photography sessions. There was time for people to relax and get to know each other over lunch and while listening to a performance by Fenlight who sang ballads about the fens. Participants could also take part swapping stories and chatting whilst making the lunch Watch this space for future activities…
