The Croft at Anglesey Abbey
Environmental Artist, Loukas Morely worked with children, parents and staff from the Croft at Hoe Fen, Anglesey Abbey. Lode .
Children, parents and staff from the Croft worked together to create an ambitious and inspiring structure, inspired by the natural environment and made out of live hazel and willow branches. The resulting “dome” which has seating inside it made from tree-trunks, will be a permanent structure there and will change dramatically as it grows and changes throughout the seasons. The dome has an almond tree at its centre, planted by the children during the workshops.
Children and adults alike took pride in their work and enjoyed being outside in the open air and in the restorative atmosphere of Hoe Fen.
