Starring Tom Hardy and Benedict Cumberbatch. Set in Cambridge, the true story of a remarkable and unlikely friendship between an aspiring author and a chaotic, serially damaged homeless man. From post-office heists, attempts at suicide and spells inside numerous institutions, Stuart’s alien world is revealed to Alexander, who sets off on a journey to understand how Stuart's life spiralled so badly out of control.

8PM Comedy: Cracking Up
Cutting edge comedy with award winning comedian John Ryan and special guests that lifts the lid on mental health and takes a light-hearted look at when life gives you a bit of a kicking.

A moving portrait of creativity: the story of how artistic genius and madness can go hand in hand. Singer songwriter Daniel Johnston’s life and career was shaped by his struggle with bipolar disorder. This poignant film charts his journey from artistic flights of fancy through grandiose delusions to bleak despair, all told movingly through home footage, interviews with loved ones, and Daniel’s personal drawings and musical recordings.

Arts and Minds The Festival are delighted to welcome writer and novelist JOANNE LIMBURG, who will be joining us to talk about storytelling and narrative, and her recent book The Woman Who Thought Too Much, a memoir about OCD, anxiety and poetry.
